The inscription on a tablet found at Tel Dan, which dates to about 840 B.C.E., clearly mentions a “House of David.” The Bible describes King Solomon’s construction of massive gates in Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer. Archeologists have uncovered the ruins of structures fitting these descriptions.
